Today was opening day for most of baseball including my beloved Padres. I went to the game and spent the entire day downtown around the ballpark. The atmosphere is great and I always love going to a game. Unfortunately they lost, but that's why we play 162 games. One of my favorite artists recently has been Tom Waits. The raspy voice and jazzy sound to his music is amazing. Along the same lines is Mark Lanegan Band. I heard a new band today that I really like. It happens all the time, but this time was in a record store and it was on. The last time I did that, it was Tom Waits who was playing and I fell in love. This time it is a band called The Men. Their new album Open Your Heart is superb. Jam rock with a hint of punk vocals in there as well.
